Something to chew on

Here's another reality nugget.

Immigration: We wrote the book on immigration. We had to. Immigrants need to do so by the book. There are already enough laws in the book - but we need to ENFORCE them.

Speaking of enough laws - here's a thought: There's enough jail space. There are just too many laws. Every time we turn around we may be doing something illegal. And too many times the most meaningful and necessary laws (those dealing with IMMIGRATION, for instance) are broken, ignored, or go unenforced for so long that both the law breaker and the law enforcement official question their validity. It seems that only the more easily enforceable laws are actually enforced, while the more difficult (and sometimes expensive) laws are left by the wayside. Generally speaking, however, there are too many laws. Hey who knows, you may be arrested for reading this.

The REAL Oprah Winfrey

Good morning. I saw something on TV this morning about Oprah Winfrey stumping for Barack Obama (sp?). Oprah is dishonest. She said in an interview that she does not believe that a person should vote for the color of the skin of the candidate, but for his/her character. In a very public speech alongside Obama, she said that we need not wait for Martin Luther King's dream to come true, and that we can make it come true NOW through the power of the vote. If that isn't promoting skin color over character, I don't know what is. If Obama is smart, he'll ask Oprah to just shut up. I'd ask her myself if I could (not that she would listen).
